Ok Rodriguez isn't doing great thus far...but he is doing WAY better than both Pomeranz and Holland...and Rodriguez gets released. I don't get it...Im guessing it wasnt Bochy's call.

Agree, Randy; it likely guess Who's call.
But I agree, too, with Krukow.
This is likely to be good for Rodriquez.
Less pressure to win right now, and a chance to work out mechanics.
Remember, THIS seasonal start is what I predicted; struggles.
Too much success too early and not knowing how he achieved it.

No one is putting it all on Dereck, Randy.
Quite the contrary.
Prior to the season began, Flannery and others mentioned that this was something ZAIDI was likely to do.
Rodriguez is young, and to fix his mechanics without the pressure of the pennant race on his shoulders makes it much easier on him.

Penant race??? You're joking right? There is NONE pressure playing for the Giants right now. Face the truth man...this team is a bottom dwelling collection of junk and its not likely to improve under the direction of a FO filled with stats geeks.

We, the fans, certainly DON'T see a pennant race.
But I'll bet you money the players DO.
They may know they don't have but a chance in a million, but as the Jim Carey character said in Dumb and Dumber, "There's still a chance!"
Secondly, Rodriguez doesn't want to be the "one" who lets his teammates down.
This creates pressure that he puts on himself to perform better.
One thing dominoes into another, his mechanics fall out of whack, and he simply needs a 2 week or so break to fix them.
He's not the first, and he won't be the last.
Even on the pre game show yesterday, Michael Morse said the same thing about a time early in his career.

but the veterans are struggling worse...it's totally unfair to put all of this on Dereck Rog -- Who said anyone is putting the Giants' problems on Dereck? The Giants are sending Dereck Rodriguez to the minors during a period when they're trying to give an opportunity to Tyler Beede to prove himself, and the schedule indicates that for Dereck it might have been a choice between sending him to the minors or to the bullpen. The Giants need only four starters right now, and they've decided to use Bumgarner, Samardzija, Pomeranz and Beede for the moment. If the situation were presented properly to Dereck, he should see it as an opportunity, not a putdown. And while Derek Holland naturally doesn't like being demoted to the bullpen, he likely wouldn't have if he hadn't pitched so horribly in his last start. A guy who took more responsibility for his own actions than Derek might have simply looked in the mirror, although it was a natural human reaction for him to be frustrated and to lash out. When Dereck goes to the minors, he should get a fresh set of inputs, which might prove helpful.

I don't understand why someone who has put in solid work at the Major League level gets replaced by someone who has never done anything but get ROCKED in the show. A million dollar arm and a 2 cent head

A million dollar arm and a 2 cent head Rog -- Really the only way to find out about how Tyler Beede might help out in the future is to have him pitch in the majors. The Giants already have a good idea of what Dereck Rodriguez can do. Dereck might benefit from some more refinement in the minors, so by starting Beede and sending Dereck down, the Giants may be accomplishing two things at the same time. As for your comment about Tyler's million dollar arm and 2 cent head, at least we know that you don't have a million dollar arm. Based on what I've heard from Tyler, I don't think he's a mental midget at all. Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/5285/wtf#ixzz5nqE1grvw
