Has anyone heard where Mac landed?
Has he cleared waivers?
I can't find one thing.

It may be that waivers expired on Mac today.

I'd like to see him clear and report to Sacramento.
I want him back.
I'll take oodles of him over Reed and Joe.

He wasnr put on waivers. He was DFA which means Giants have i believe 7 or 10 days to rrade him and then can try to clear him thru waivers

Thanks, Mordy. I sincerely hope he clears waivers. He's still a better option than the putz's we now have.

I didn't realize the timeframe was that long, Mordy, but I think you're right on the money. I was thinking 48 or 72 hours, but that's probably to work out a trade. Then there's probably a 48-hour waiver period after that.
Seems like we should know something in the next two or three days.

Once a player is DFA'd he is no longer on the team's 40-man roster and that the team has 10 days to place him on waivers, trade him, or release him

Ten days. I had no idea it was so long. Good work, Mordy!
That this has taken so long would seem to imply that the Giants are exploring legtitimate deals, or perhaps that they're waiting for the idea time to try to sneak Mac through waivers.

We should know if Williamson has cleared waivers, or has been claimed by another team, in less than 24 hours. As I understand it, of the max 7 days a player can be in DFA limbo, 5 days can be used to trade the player, if not traded the player has to be on waivers for 48 hours.

Thanks for helping us keep this all in perspective, Mordy. I certainly learned something here, and I appreciate it.

If Mac can hit at Sacramento, and the Giants think he's ready, he'll get another shot. I would imagine they'll be cautious though, since every time they have to send him back down they risk losing the guy who probably still has the highest ceiling of any of their outfielders.

Things became very complicated for Mac when they traded for Pillar.
I'm wishing and hoping for the best for him.
We could use his power.
But honestly, I'm surprised NO ONE picked him up.

It's ironic that had Mac come available to the Giants from another team, instead of becoming available to other teams instead of the Giants, the Giants might have picked him up. As it was, they had to decide between him, Reed or Joe. If they didn't keep Joe, they would have lost him back to the Dodgers, since he was Rule 5 pick of the Reds from LA. So it kind of came down to the more versatile and better defender Reed or Mac. The Giants chose to keep Reed, who then had to go to make room for Pillar. The Giants will now try to sneak Reed back to the minors as they were successful in doing with Mac.
There's more to this stuff than meets the eye, and I still think the Giants missed the boat with reliever J.T. Chargois, who actully had TWO options left when the Giants failed to claim him a year ago and allowed him to slide to Farhan and the Dodgers. Farhan was the only GM to foil the Twins' attempt to sneak him through.
Now, part of the reason Chargois was available was because he's had health issues, and he's back in the minors again. But as Boly commented last season, J.T.'s got a live arm, and now he's still in the Dodgers' control -- when it could have been the Giants instead. These little moves aren't earthshaking, but they can add up to the one or two or three extra wins a team needs to sneak into the playoffs.
