I'm wondering if Bochy really cares about winning anymore. It looks like he did the old dartboard thing today. His number one hitter this Spring is in the 8 spot, behind our trash heap corner outfielders

Or maybe Fargeek is making the lineups now

Randy, it's frustrating when you don't think.
Don't you think first and foremost that Bruce has pride?
Don't you think he wants to do the best he possibly can to finish out his career?
Don't you thknk he cares about his players?
Don't you think he'd like to win 74 games this season to reach 2000 for his career?
Don't you think he's like to win 90 games to reach .500?
And finally, don't you think that Bruce considered Steven Duggar's difficulties in hitting left-handed pitching in the minor leagues when he decided to bat him 8th?
Tell us again, Randy, just what it is that you understand about baseball that I never will?

you're right...it must have been Fargeek making the lineup. And FYI it was Panik hitting 8th...maybe Fargeek figured that 400+ average in ST was a fluke.

Oh, it was Joe hitting eighth. That one I can't really explain.
My guess though is that Bruce could. Joe entered the game 0 for 2 against Lauer, but with no strikeouts. I don't think there was enough there for the idea to have come from the Giants' analytics staff.
But back to your initial point; Bruce cares. It was foolish of you to imply otherwise.
