The Padres, already loaded with outfielders, claimed Socrates Brito. The Giants could have taken him first, but I think they're still looking for right-handed hitters. The Mets signed brief Giant Rene Rivera to a minor league contract.

Ty Blach does have a couple of options I believe and was sent down. Ty had a very strong start to his spring but had slowed down of late. The Giants have decent pitching options at Sacramento including Blach, Andrew Suarez, Sean Anderson and Tyler Beede.

IMHO, Blach has no place on this staff.
I'd rather have Ray Black in relief.

I think Ty has value as a pitcher who can perform in a variety of roles. I think he provides very nice depth in Sacramento. One thing Ty did this spring for the first time in his career is actually strike batters out.
