Bochy said he was going to name his rotation last night but when the time came he refused to do it, saying “you’ll see why real soon.” That must mean something is going to happen in the next day or two, and it will involve the rotation. Unless he was just referring to Chris Stratton being traded after the game, but I’m pretty sure he wasn’t part of the rotation to begin with. Stratton was traded to the Angels for another pitcher, Williams Jerez. Andrew Suarez was sent to the minors.

I just read that, Mark, and like everyone else, I'm in a 'wait and see' mode until something happens.
IF something happens.
The article hinted that Holland was the guy on the way out, and if that clears room for Suarez to be in the rotation, I'm all for it.
I'd rather they move Samarddizja, but that's a different issue.
But honestly, IF something happens, I'll be surprised.

I hadn't heard it before, but based on what Bochy said, something WILL be happening. Samardzija hasn't yet performed in the regular season, so it's probably not he. It wouldn't seem that Pomeranz would be flipped this quickly. Personally I'd trade Rodriguez in a heartbeat if they could get a decent outfielder, but I think the other teams are on to Dereck's likely decline. So that would seem to leave Holland or Madison. And I can't imagine Madison's value being high after his horrible spring and in particular his last outing.
So, yeah, it seems like the tulips may be growing elsewhere this season. The Giants have the enviable "problem" of having too mamy pitchers.
Here's a question: How much salary would we be willing to eat for a team to take BOTH Holland and Melancon in return for virtually nothing?
