This is from today's MLB Trade Rumors chat:
The latest rumor has the Giants again checking in on Pillar, though I wonder if their recent acquisition of Michael Reed may have addressed their CF need. Then again, Reed isn't a true center fielder like Pillar.
Regardless, it seems like a decent chance Pillar could be dealt, and a good chance he's dealt before the season is out. He doesn't really fit into the Jays' longtime plan.
Rog -- While outfield defense is highly important in right field as well as center, it seems to me that the Giants might have to give up too much for Pillar's defense when they may have a similar defender in Duggar. An outfield defense of Duggar, Pillar and Parra would be darn good though, although Duggar, Parra and Williamson aren't at all bad as a defensive trio themselves. It's offense, not defense, that the Giants' outfield lacks.
