Todays 5-0 loss was as listless a game as was most of 2018...Horrible offensive effort where barely a bat was hit hard or far..I think we have many question marks going forward..For starters Posey gives me no reason to believe he is at 100% given his weak at-bats and Longoria continues to show me very poor plate coverage..Big Mac has had a disappointing spring and Crawford still looks like he is trying to find himself...On the other hand I expect big bounce back years from Belt, Panik and having Duggar for a full year along with Parra should help...Rodrieguz's FB topped out at 93 today which is alarming and Madbum I suspect is way past his prime and on the back 9...The bullpen is inconsistent with Melancon and Dyson sucking it up but on the other hand I am extremely impressed with Gott and Bergen ( todays 2 run hr notwithstanding) All in all, I see no better than a .500 team and I don't see how farhan could have significantly improved the team without breaking the bank which I think would have been silly given the many holes...Right now we are just in a wait and see mode...Lets play Bal;l!!!

Mordy, I'm in awe of you as the voice of reason here!
The guy who has really disappointed me but I haven't given up on is Mac. I still think there's that small chance that he could become a special player. But since his beaning last season, he hasn't shown us much. Hopefully he's healthy and still will come around.
Madison and Rodriguez are being cited as two big regression candidates. Belt and Panik have each had fine springs, and although I have no real basis, I am still expecting Buster to bounce back. Then again, Devon Mesoraco looked like he was coming on as a catcher, then hurt his hip and now is no longer even major league material.
Being a .500 team does indeed appear to be the likely cap, and even getting that far could be tough if Madison and Rodriguez significantly decline and the outfield doesn't show significant improvement. At least as you mention, the bullpen looks good.

This was the first game of the spring that I've gotten to see.
Don't know if I felt they were listless, just... incompetent.
If this is the kind of offense we are going to see this season, I am very, very worried, because it won't be fun watching them.
Anderson was VERY hittable early...VERY hittable.
But our guys went up to the plate clueless, not the least of which was Duggar.
In that first ab, he took pitches right over the heart of the plate and the bat never moved.
After the 2nd inning, Anderson's change up showed up and he was tough.
The second guy... Last name starts with an "M" I believe, had an unhittable splitter.
I didn't have a problem with Mac's abs. Remember, this is the first time I've seen them this year.
But everyone else?
Just shoot me now.
