From what I keep reading, seems it's coming down to 3 players;
Pablo-Obviously a fan favorite, great off the bench and in the club house, a switch hitter. Limited range in the field and where he can play, and not very good from the right side.
Hanson-Blazing, off the charts speed, switch hitter who can't hit from the right side, and a below average defender but can play a ton of positions.
Joe-Younger than Pablo, Hits from the right side only, more versatile, but very unknown to me and most Giant fans.
Without knowing much about Conner Joe, I'd guess that the odd man out would be Sandoval simply because he is less versatile.
Just a guess.

Good evaluation of the three players, Boly. I would hate to see Pablo go, but maybe he would be willing to play at Sacramento. If he truly loves the game -- and he certainly seems to -- I don't see why he wouldn't. Of course, perhaps he'd be claimed by another team, although I kind of doubt it.
Because of his speed, Hanson might not clear waivers, but I can't see keeping him over Yangervis Solarte, and I'd probably rank him behind both Pablo and Joe. Statcast believes Hanson was a very lucky hitter last season, and seemingly nothing can save Alen against southpaws.
Joe's big weapon may be his ability to reach base. He's not as versatile as Hanson, but as Boly said, he's more versatile than Pablo because he can play the outfield. To the best of my knowledge he can't pitch though!

Sandoval has one big ace in the hole...Bochy LOVES him. I don't know much about Joe either, but I would think Sandoval's impressive spring from the right side makes him as versatile as any of the three. And he is a wonderful presence in the clubhouse. Plus, he can throw an inning or two in a pinch.

To me, the toughest call may be the bullpen. Apparently the Giants are going to keep eight relievers, but they've got at least 10 candidates:
Smith Watson Dyson Moronta Gott Bergen Vincent Stratton Melancon Blach
Even if Melancon goes on the injured list, one of the above guys has to get cut. Does anyone know if Ty Blach has an option left? I don't think he does. Probably he, Vincent and Melancon are the most vulnerable here. Maybe a reliever gets traded for an outfielder. Cameron Maybin looks like the fourth outfielder at the moment, but I think the Giants would very much like an improvement.

Regarding Pablo, don't forget too that for what it's worth, he's the Giants' #3 catcher. And he does indeed seem like a great clubhouse presence.
Has anyone here picked up one of the "Let Pablo Pitch" T-shirts?

I think Stratton is expendable.
I think Dyson has TOOOOOO much upside to move at the trade deadline to let him go.

Rog -- The Giants could get a return for Sam, but they're stuck with Mark. He may not be healthy, in which case they can DL him. Otherwise they are pretty much stuck with pitching him and hoping he pitches well enough that they can get some kind of return for him and eat less contract.

Chris Stratton still has some potential. The Giants would like to keep him around as their long man. But he is certainly near the top of the list of guys who could go.

Yup, he's in that "so bad lets DL him and make him a mascot" category.

Rog -- This is what drives me crazy, Randy. You don't know if Mark is healthy or not.
Boagie- And you don't know that he's injured. Last I heard from him is he feels better than he has for 2 years. Why would they keep running him out there in spring games if he's injured? All evidence points to him being healthy.

Why would they keep running him out there in spring games if he's injured? All evidence points to him being healthy. Rog -- You could well be right. But haven't you asked yourself, can Mark really be this bad? We're talking about the reliever who had the lowest ERA over the three seasons before he signed with the Giants of any bullpenner in the majors. We're talking about a guy who posted a 3.23 ERA last season. He's posted a 9.25 ERA this spring, giving up nearly two hits per inning. He's yielded three home runs in 6.2 frames. For me it's just hard to believe he's entirely healthy. The thing about Randy is that he doesn't seem to even CONSIDER such a possibility. If Mark is healthy and pitching this badly, I've got to think that he's done. That would be very sad. Despite his arm troubles in his first two Giants seasons, he still sports a 2.76 career ERA. Before I'm a jerk and say that someone sucks, I'm going to try to be sure he isn't injured. But Randy seems to have very little human decency. The Giants decided Joyce wasn't their guy and basically flipped him after, what, three days? They signed him as a free agent, and traded him for cash. Maybe came out a few bucks ahead on the deals.
Was signing Matt really such a dumb deal?
Earlier this winter the Giants picked up outfielder John Andreoli on waivers. They just traded him and cash for outfielder Michael Reed, who seems like he might become the Giants' fourth outfielder. Who knows, maybe the cash they traded was the cash they received for Joyce?
The Giants have certainly tried out a lot of outfielders this winter. They haven't gotten the greatest of results, but they certainly have more depth in the outfield than they had going in. They haven't made anywhere near the inroads in the outfield that they've made in the bullpen and probably the infield though.
Remember too, there will be more players getting cut. We're not talking huge stuff here, but this is fun! So far, Bergen, Gott and Vincent have looked great, and Solarte has become the Giants' primary utility man. The signing of Pomeranz and the re-signing of Holland have solidified the rotation.
The sad thing is that the outfield was the Giants' biggest need, and it seems to be where they've made their least improvement. But as mentioned, there will be more players coming available. The trick now is to turn the excess of pitching into more outfield depth.

I'm the jerk? Melancon has taken top dollar for 2 years for jack shit and we're supposed to be grateful? He's old and broken down. Maybe he would have done better if he wasn't hurt two years ago but I'm not going to compound the mistake of signing him by making the bigger mistake of keeping him when he isn't showing any signs of being his former effective self.
