From MLB Trade Rumoers:
Giants righty Tyler Beede, who’s had difficulty harnessing a high-octane arsenal since spurning a huge Toronto offer as a first-round selection in the 2012 draft, may finally be turning the corner, writes Grant Brisbee of The Athletic. The Vanderbilt product, who overhauled his scintillating repertoire at the behest of the old Giants regime, turning himself into a sinker/command guy who sought soft contact, has gone back to his roots: a hard four-seam/overhand curve mix that’s baffled Cactus League hitters thus far. Technology implemented by the new, data-conscious staff under GM Farhan Zaidi (who singled out the righty in an early-spring media chat) appears to have been the catalyst, and the 25-year-old Beede is all ears. Beede’s eventual role remains unclear – there’s talk of him breaking camp with the club as a reliever – but he’s again a name to watch by the bay.
Remember how we talked earlier about how teams are now trying to get better by improving the assets they already have? This appears to be a case of the new Giants' regime doing so, possibly by undoing a mistake by the old regime. This is the kind of thing we Giants fans are looking for.

We've spoken of how the Astros have taken the use of analytics in pitching to a new level, pointing to the amazing improvement shown by Charlie Morton and seemingly fading veteran Justin Verlander. Here's another one:
Reliever Ryan Pressly put up a nice six-year career with the Twins before being traded to Houston at last year's trade deadline. Pressly's career ERA was 3.75, and he was cruising at 3.40 last season prior to the trade. Once he joined the Astros, he became the most effective reliever in baseball the rest of the way, posting a 0.77 ERA and a 0.60 WHIP.
Yesterday it was announced that the Astros had extended Pressly with a 2/$17.5 contract that includes a third-year vesting option. The contract is reported to be the largest ever for a set up reliever.
Back a decade or so ago when I mentioned here that one of the Baseball Prospectus writers had been hired by the Astros, I wished that he had gone to a better team. Well, the Astros are now known as the leaders of the spin-rate revolution, and they are pretty good.
Remember, the Giants have hired Driveline Baseball's pitching coordinator, which would seem to be a good sign.

First of all NOBODY could say for certain exactly why Beedee is doing great this Spring...although it might just be that he has very good stuff and he's finally learned to refine his mechanics. To DECLARE that it has EVERYTHING to do with our new stats geek GM is ridiculous.

Technology implemented by the new, data-conscious staff under GM Farhan Zaidi (who singled out the righty in an early-spring media chat) APPEARS to have been the catalyst, and the 25-year-old Beede is all ears." Not the word APPEARS, which I have capitalized. I will say that Tyler himself specificially mentioned analytics when he was interviewed during the game a week and a half or so ago. But you're right. Which is probably why the author stated his point the way he did instead of using the ridiculous wording you did. Randy, I believe you have a reading comprehension problem. What you get out of something seems to be badly colored by your opinions going in.
