According to the website, looks like he's close to, or soon will, sign with us.
I think this is a solid move... but as I said in another thread; we're already LH heavy.
He's another.
I count Hanson as LH because he's useless from the right side of the plate.
Still, I like the move

The irony is that the Giants signed for former A, Vogt, to a minor league contact almost simultaneously with the A's signing former Giant Randy Hundley to a minor league pact. Hundley's chances of getting playing time with the A's appear stronger than Vogt's chances with the Giants.
Hundley was a huge clubhouse favorite, but the Giants may have been put off by his poor framing metrics. Although the lefty-hitting Vogt is in theory a better complement to Buster Posey, in reality if Buster moves to first base, the best time to use him there is against a southpaw so that Brandon Belt can more efficiently be rested.
Vogt does form a better backup complement with Aramis Garcia however, and the other Giants backup catchers -- Cameron Rupp and Rene Rivera -- bat from the right side.
Counting both Eric Hanson and Pablo Sandoval as left-handed hitters makes sense.
