Lots of rumors about Tulowitzki coming to the Giants, and frankly, I LIKE the move.
I really do.
Yes, he's 34, but since he's owed money from Toronto there is no financial risk to us.
Plus, he's finally healthy.
He can spell Crawford and possibly, though it's not my first choice, platoon with Panik.
Vendetti.
Hmmm.
My first thought is, 'oh boy, we've signed a 34 year old reliever."
My second thought is, "this probably signals an impending move of either Watson or Smith.
I like them both, but IF it was my choice, it would be rubber armed Tony W.
Then again, IF Smith could bring a good bat, I'd do that first.
For the moment, it looks as though Farhan is getting ready to drop his load into the pot (as in toilet), which is a good thing.
Finally.

First of all, thanks for the news on Pat Venditte. I not only hadn't heard of his signing, it took me a while to find it online.
Venditte has pitched to both right-handed hitters and lefties, but he's been far more successful against lefties, making him as Boly implied, mostly a lefty specialist. Venditte has been against lefty hitters even in the 14 times he's faced them as a righty (unless that is a recording mistake).
Of the 108 batters Venditte has faced lefty on lefty, he's given up only 19 hits and 6 walks, striking out 30. I presume the Giants got him on a very cheap contract, so like Boly, I like the signing. Boly almost certainly is right that the Giants are planning to trade at least one of their top two lefties as has been rumored. Not only have they signed Venditte, they have chosen lefty Travis Bergen in the Rule 5 Draft.
Neither of those two moves have been big moves, but together they appear to be catalysts toward a bigger event. Aside from Madison Bumgarner, Will Smith may be the Giants' biggest trading chip, and Tony Watson also has value as Boly mentioned. Watson was the biggest positive surprised in the bullpen for me last season. A guy I thought was slowly declining, had a very nice season.
Maybe we fans will get a Christmas present from the Giants.
Regarding Tulowitzki, I don't see much downside, and he is a Bay Area kid. I haven't even looked to see how I think he will perform, but my guess is that he could teach Giants youngsters at least as much as Madison Bumgarner can.
