it;s not up to us to devise a plan and name what players we want...we just want to see the plan of the peerson whose job it is to do this
Rog -- If you don't know what you want, doesn't that make it hard to evaluate the plan when it unfolds?
Here is something to consider: A good plan consists of Plan A through Plan Z. With the potential of 30 teams competing for parts of Plan A, the chances that Farhan or any other GM will be able to complete his plan just as it is envisioned, are very slim.
We really won't be able to completely judge Farhan for at least five years. By spring, we'll have a glimpse, but only a glimpse. By the end of the season, we'll have a little better idea. Our understanding of his plan and how well it is going will grow over time.
Right now you don't even know what you want, so how can you judge?
One thing you should be able to judge is how many of the top free agents that have signed you would have signed for the Giants, and how much you would have been willing to pay. Let's assume the Giants have about $35 million to spend for 2019 salaries.
You should also be able to identify which of the available free agents you would sign, and how much you would be willing to pay for them. Trades are of course much harder to project, but you might want to tell us which players you would trade and an example of a package of players you would expect for them.
Why not start with the free agents the Giants have missed out on that you wish they had signed, and how much you would have been willing to pay? If the Giants haven't missed out on any free agents you want, it's hard to criticize them, isn't it?
