Remember that the mean number of years between a team's World Championships is 29. The Giants are on the upper end of the payroll spectrum, so they should be able to do maybe twice that well, but it's tough to get a playoff team, and once that is accomplished, there's still a lot of work to be done.

Randy, you dont understand facts. If I had wanted to be protective of Farhan, I wouldn't have added that the Giants were near the top of the payroll spectrum, giving them a better shot than most teams.
In San Francisco, the Giants have won three World Series in 61 seasons. That's about one every 20 seasons. When they started in The City, there were only 16 major league teams. They've been right about at the average one would expect of the average team.
Since the Giants have often been near the top of the payroll spectrum, they're underperformed a bit in terms of World Championships. They got a lot out of the 2010 through 2014 teams though. They won three World Championships with teams that in those five seasons had a combined regular season winning percentage of less than .540.
