Don't worry too much what Rog says about our young outfielders, he thought Mac Williamson would stick at the major league level and Parker wouldn't. Rog -- That's not exactly true, Boagie. I've never liked EITHER of them. I may have said that because he is younger, has less experience and because the Giants liked him better, Mac might have had a better CHANCE than Jarrett. I never thought Mac would be a first-division starter, and injuries have further derailed his career. Regarding Parker, I believe it was you, Boagie, who noticed that he has begun to cut down on his strikeouts. Excellent observation, and potentially a very important one. That gives him a better chance, although it is disappointing that despite that improvement, he's hitting just .243. I'm willing to give Jarrett a bit of a mulligan this season though, given the severity of his collar bone injury. And he has impressed me with his toughness and defense. By the way, Boly, I hadn't yet read your post when I responded to Boagie. You pretty much hit the nail on the head.

This is using stereotypes, but I would say Austin hits with the power of a center fielder (probably a bit better), but fields and steals bases like a corner outfielder. That's not a particularly exciting combination.
He's still just 24 for three more months though. Let's hope he improves. If he can field the position and can learn to take better advantage on the bases of his very good speed, I think Austin might have a chance to become a first-division center fielder. That's a lot of improvement to ask though.
It's hard to believe he doesn't steal bases when he's faster than Eduardo Nunez.

It was mentioned that Jarrett has hit into a lot of hard outs this season. But that would appear to be balanced out by some hits on balls NOT hit hard. Jarrett is making a bit more contact this season, but he has hit the ball hard only about one out of every four times.
What is hopeful though is that Jarrett has cut his swinging strike percentage from 14% as a rookie to 11% this season. He's increased his contact from 69% to 75%. He has cut his swinging at bad balls from 31% to an impressive 21% (or less than half as often as Pablo).
But he hit the ball hard 39% of the time as a rookie, and he's down to 24% this season. I'm praying he deserves a mulligan for his clavicle injury.
