Well, it would appear that my "This is the End," song about Mac was a little premature.
The team NEEDS RH bats, and even though he hit a paltry .244 in Sac (which is freaking terrible!) he did hit 14 HRs and 20+ doubles.
I guess that's something.
Not much, but something.

Mac is playing regularly only because of the injury to Parker, but he's at least got a chance to be a decent backup outfielder if he can stay healthy. He's a bit younger than some of these other guys, and his career development has been thwarted by injury.
I'm not particularly optimistic, but his chances are certainly better than those of Moncrief, who is two years older and has much more minor league experience.

I'm not, either.
And that ball he botched in game one re enforces what I've said about his 'glove' since he came up.
As Estes and Aurilia said in the pre game show: "At the Major League Level, that ball HAS to be caught."

He should have been well aware of the wind factor, but was seemingly caught by surprise. Then again, so was Denard, although to a lesser extent. And Mac did have the disadvantage of having the ball hit right at him, making it more difficult to judge.
Just horrible defense by both players though. Especially Mac.
One thing Jarrett Parker has shown this season is that he's a fine defensive player. If he could learn to play center field, his bat would play better there.

Jarrett has played CF, but I don't think he has the range WE need at AT&T for him to play there.
Still, I believe that his range IS better than Span's range.

Jarrett has played center field above the AA level in 20 games.
