What I've learned this year about Gorkys is this; he ain't Gregor Blanco.
He ain't.
when he played everyday, surprisingly, Gorky's average went up and up and up.
Stayed in the strike zone, hit the ball everywhere on the field.
Now that he's relegated, once again, to that 4th outfielder, he's back to being the player he was.
Chasing crap that's not a strike, swing through and missing hittable pitches, and generally being nothing more than a defensive replacement.
I took Gregor for granted, it seems.
I really did.
He could sit and sit, and PH and PH, and THEN come in an hit okay to well.
Seems Gorkys ain't that guy.
Sigh...

In Gorky's defense, it's not easy to be that guy. That's why I felt the Giants should've held onto Blanco for longer. He in my opinion is one of the best bench players the Giants have ever had, and was still a serviceable option even during his not so good seasons.

You were right, boagie.
I wanted him gone, and I was wrong.
