Moving Aaron Hill was long over due.
Once upon a time... but he's not what he was.
Not even close.
I'm glad to see them bringing up another kid for a look.
Heck, it's all I/we've got in this nightmare called 2017 baseball season.
I just want to see what we have at this point, and I'm hoping that once Arroyo gets healthy, he's called back up, too.
Now I want them to call up Beede and designate Cain.
I'm also curious as to just WHAT Jarret Parker can do.
I know he started off terribly, but with the pressure off, let's let the kid get about 250 at bats the rest of the way and roll the dice.

But Beede hasn't done anything to show he deserves to be called up. Does he deserve it more than Joan Gregorio? As for Parker, the odds you'll be disappointed are quite high. As for Cain, it's tough to just dump a guy who has been one of the biggest parts of your team for more than a dozen years and who was important to winning three World Championships. Tyler Beede certainly hasn't pitched well enough to warrant getting rid of Matt. I'm sure the Giants would LOVE to see Matt suffer an arm injury. But with the season clearly NOT on the line, I can see allowing Matt to keep his dignity. At least until Gregorio or especially Beede pitch their way in to the rotation. Gregorio has pitched pretty well (not spectacularly), but Tyler hasn't pitched well at all. He's more or less been the Matt Cain of AAA. What I'd like to see is if Austin Slater can play center field. If he can handle the position defensively, he has a chance to be pretty good there.
It can't hurt much to play Parker and Williamson. Maybe see if Ryder Jones can play the outfield. Later on maybe Chris Shaw. although I suspect he's just a first baseman.
Boly, you mentioned that you liked the Braves' first baseman Matt Adams. The Braves do too. They're having Freddie Freeman play some third base in his rehab with the idea of keeping Adams in the lineup. One thing about Matt though is that he hits right-handed pitching only.
One thing about Brandon Belt that has been nice is that up until this season he's hit southpaws OK. This season he's hitting right-handers more or less like always, but he's failing against southpaws.

Gregario, Beede, I don't care who it is.
Bring him up and take a look.
Cain has been what I said he'd be, and I know it would be tough to dump him... but it's NOT like he's just having a bad patch.
This has been going on for what, 2...3... years now?

Rog -- Believe it or not, it's been five. His ERA over the period has been something like 4.75. After being around 3.00 during the five seasons before that. If one wants to look at the very WORST pitching by Cain, it's now in its third season as you estimated.
