The way Bruce Bochy used his bullpen last night reminded me of the ninth inning of game 4 of the NLDS.

Maybe last night was the beginning of a bounce back by Matt Moore. If Denard Span had fielded better, wouldn't he have given up only one run?
I thought Denard improved in the field in last year's second half, but he's been very disappointing both the first half of last season and all of this one to date. Back five years or so, Denard was considered one of the best. He has declined even more quickly than Angel Pagan.

That would be nice... But I'm not counting on it, Rog. Moore has been BEYOND disappointing this year. He reminds me of Ray Sadecki when he firt came over to the Giants in 1966; 5.40 ERA. From 1967-1974, except for one year, he was pretty good. Be nice if we could get that from Moore. But what concerns me is his command. Much like so many LHP... he's all over the place. Can't seem to lock in his mechanics. Heck, even 33 foot tall Randy Johnson got his body under control eventually! We need this putz to get his act together. boly

Matt was good last night. He was a very good pitcher early in his career. Maybe he can get it back. At this point, I don't really have an opinion on whether he will be able to do so.

Matt isn't walking as many as he did in 2013 when he went 17-4, but he isn't fooling batters as much either. He's throwing essentially as hard. For whatever reason, he seems to have lost his stuff since his Tommy John surgery.
How does he get it back?

Mechanics.
LHP struggle with mechanics.
They simply can't keep everything in syc.
How?
If anyone could answer that question, they'd be rich.

Why do you think lefties struggle with mechanics? Is it because they're usually taught by right-handers?

I'd never even considered that, Rog, so I don't know.
It's just a fact that...well, literally, always has been...
