A couple of things have just caught my eye.
The first is that before marrying his wife, Madison Bumgarner dated a girl named ... Madison Bumgarner. I have read that the Bumgarners are big in Madison's home town. Hopefully the girl wasn't too closely related, although in the end, I guess it hasn't mattered.
The second was the article in which Around the Foghorn stated that "2011 wasn't a loss, but a foundation for the future." I know Randy and Boagie aren't going to agree with that sentiment, and I don't think any of the rest of us are either, but the Foghorn (foggy) thinking is that both Madison Bumgarner and Buster Posey began their seasons with the Giants for the first time, and both Brandon's had 2011 as their first Giants season. And those guys do seem to be the primary pillars moving forward. The quartet is the group of homegrown guys with the latest contract expirations.
Not exactly buying it, but I admire the creativity, if not the logic.
