Please share your thoughts on our roster against the Cubs
Infield: (5)
Belt Panik Crawford Posey Nunez (?)
Back up infielders: -(2)
Tomlinson Gillaspie Adrianza (?)-If Nunez is healthy, Adriazna isn't active
Back up catcher: (1)
Brown
Outfield:(5)
Pence Pagan Span
Back up out fielders:
Parker Hernandez
That's 13 players
I keep 12 pitchers
Bumgarner Cueto Moore Samardizja
RH Strickland Romo Kontos Casilla Law
LH Smith Lopez
On the Bubble-Since the Cubs are really RH heavy (Only Rizzo and Heyward usually start) Montero is a LH hitting catcher, but with 2 LH in my bullpen, I should be able to work around him.
Fowler and Zobrist are switch hitters.
Okert or Suarez would be my final spot, with me leaning towards... Okert because I think that, in a short series, I don't really need a long man.

Moore would assume the long man role, in my opinion.

Wait WHAT??? Moore in the bullpen? That makes NO sense. If anyone's going to assume a long man role, it's going to be Ty Blach, IMO.
Moore will start Game 2 or Game 4

You're right, I'm not sure what I was thinking there. And you could be right about Blach being the long man.

Randy was right about Ty Blach being the 12th pitcher. And with, as Boly stated, the Cubs having only two primary lefty hitters, I think that's a good move -- as disappointed as Okert, again as Boly pointed out, should be.
The Giants hope Blach won't be used in the long role, but if he is needed, he could save much of the rest of the bullpen. There two days off in the series, but it is possible that non-overworked relievers could become scarce for the third (straight) game here (the fifth of the series). Blach likely could still be used to pitch to a single hitter or two in the second, fifth, sixth and/or seventh games and still be ready for his long job, which won't really be required if there is a seventh game.
I guess the Giants also like the idea that should a game go long, long innings, Blach could be the guy who comes in when everyone else is used up and thus saves the emergency use of a starter.
Blach was my original choice until I remembered Okert, but Randy pointed out why Blach should have been my -- and the Giants' -- choice.
