Everyone who was impressed with the outting by Blach today, please say :"Aye."
AYE!
Bochy said this kid could handle the pressure, and Lord knows, did he ever!
Honestly, and I mean that sincerely, I never, ever thought the kid had a chance.
No chance.
I figured they'd get a run or more off of him early, and that Kershaw would do what he always does; shut the Giant hitters down.
And for the most part, Clayton did.
But finally, and for the 2nd time in 3 games... we got some amazing breaks.
You know the breaks I'm talking about; the ones we HAVEN'T GOTTEN IN THE LAST 3 MONTHS!
And it's about stinking time!
As I posted yesterday, THIS is the Giant team we remember as OURS.
The guys who scrap and claw and who just do not give up.
But back to Blach.
Early on he did not prove to anyone that he could get his change up over.
He often hung his breaking balls.
But he spotted that fastball extremely well, and it was RARE to see a Dodger square one up.
The kid is NOT going to be the next Phenom.
He's never going to be Tim Lincecum or Matt Cain.
But he proved today that he knows how to pitch, and he 'MAY' have just pitched himself on to the post season roster.

Gotta give Angle credit too for taking Kershaw deep to break the ice

I do, Randy.
But if the kid doesn't keep them scoreless... it's all moot.
I'll also give a TON of credit to Crawford and the defense!
Especially Crawford.
Once again some MAJOR, big time plays!

The Giants' 72 errors were the fewest in the majors. They had two long errorless strings broken only by a missed pickoff throw by Brandon Belt.
