Blooped again!
Seriously?
Nathan makes a great pitch, as did Gearrin vs Chicago... and a bloop finds a hole.
If there were such a thing as Baseball Gods...it would be obvious they have it in for us.
Over 2 months of this crap.
No matter how many breaks we get during a game... when push comes to shove... they work against us.
In all my years around the game, I've NEVER seen anything like this go on for so long.
Hey.
As the song says... "Suicide is painless, it brings on many changes, and I can take or leave it, as I please.

To me the two toughest things to take in the inning were when the Josh Osich hit by pitch and the bloop you mentioned. The thing about the bloop wasn't so much that it was a bloop, but that Angel Pagan got a horrible jump on the ball. The ball was in the air long enough that he should have caught it. With a good jump, he would have been gliding well before he caught the ball.
The bloop was a bad break -- except that it should have been caught and perhaps caught easily. A buddy of mine called and said he believed Gorky Hernandez should have caught the ball. He didn't get a great break either, but he was also on the second-base side of center field when the pitch was made, IMO making it a more difficult play for him than for Pagan.
I will say this about the bloop. I think if Hernandez had been in left, he would have made the play. In Pagan's slight defense, the play would have been a much easier one if the Giants hadn't been in a no-doubles defense which caused Angel to play deeper than usual. I'm not saying the no-doubles defense was a bad strategy. In fact, it also meant that Pagan didn't have to go as far left as usual, and to his left is actually where Pagan missed the ball.

totally agree about Hernandez, Rog.
I've been saying for years now that Pagan at best, is an average outfielder.
He reminds me of Marvin Benard; Sometimes, great reads... most of the time... not.
but sort of in his defense, he was playing no doubles defense, and thus was deeper than normal.
But that end to the game was simply a microcosm of the 2nd half.
When it counts IF it can go wrong... it will.

You've got to be fair here Boly...there was a bloop, but the winning hit was roasted...tee ball location. That is why Joe was on the junk heap

No question, Randy.
You're right.
But Casillo giving up a 1-2 HR?
Ri-freaking-diculous!
Then the bloop... again.
Like I keep saying; when push comes to shove, if it CAN go wrong, it WILL go wrong.
