I'm just about ready to praise Strickland for actually PITCHING and not throwing... when he's got a hitter 0-2, LOOKING gas... and then gets gas...
What a jackass you are Strickland, what a freaking jackass!
How long DO you have to be in the big leagues before you get it through your THICK, STUPID head that in the show, they HIT fastballs no matter how hard you throw them?
Evidently, longer than you've been here, moron!

Im pretty much expecting Strick to give it up now. Im not upset at the choice of fastball...if you put it low on the black it's a great pitch with his velocity. But the kid just isnt maintaining control in any kind of consistent way. 98 on a tee is still going to get crushed.

I have no problem with gas either, Randy... but as a former pitcher... THAT moment was SCREAMING for a breaking ball.
Why?
Because as the morons in the SD booth were saying during Friday night's game:
"The hitters know he can't get the breaking ball over consistently, so they sit on gas."
Thus Strickland's problems are so obvious to me I don't understand why HE can't see it.
Stubborn and stupid at the same time.
Jackass.

I guess my point is his control is so bad he can just as easily hang a slider as put a fastball on a tee.

That's true, Randy, but IF you're geared up to hit 98... and that 88 mph pitch comes in you're likely off stride and aren't that likely to hit it well.

Rog -- Shouldn't we be considering the catcher in this equation? If you're the catcher and the pitcher wants to throw what you consider to be a dumb pitch, shouldn't you go out to the mound and talk to him about it? Trust me, Rog, that thought DID enter my mind.
Actually, I place the fault this way:
Posey 30%
Metal-Head-70%

I called him METAL head, because he's proven he's so thick headed by refusing to make the adjustments needed to be successful.
I mean, Rog, seriously, how many tape measure HR's does one have to give up on fastballs for which hitters are obviously looking, before one figures it out?
Thus, he has a metal head.
Much like Curt Blefary was called "Clank" because that's what the ball sounded like when it hit his glove; like a ball hitting metal.
Assuming you remember Curt.
