Yesterday the Giants scored 3 runs off a closer that had had a 0.90 ERA entering the game on an 0-1 hanging slider.
Just sayin...it happens to the best of them, especially in non-save situations.

It does happen. But when competing for a division championship it shouldn't happen as often as it has with Casilla this season. I don't think Casilla should be replaced, but if he continues his rate of blowing saves, he will undoubtably be replaced.

Closers usually give up runs in tie games they enter or in one-sided games they work in just to ... get their work in. Santiago has had the bad timing of giving up his runs in save situations. If their closer situation isn't resolved by the trade deadline, the Giants might take action. Or Cory Gearrin might step up.
