One this is for sure, when I'm wrong, I'm wrong BIG TIME!
No screwing around with partially wrong for me.
Belt looked perfectly healthy to me.
I didn't see a limp, or him favoring that ankle at all.
Had a good game at the plate, too.
Now, on defense?
I'm saying spectacular!
Freaking spectacular!
That is as good as I've ever seen him, picking the ball.
Now he'll likely go out tomorrow, K four times, and boot three plays in the field.

It's a miracle Boly! The Giants actually said a player was "day to day" and he was actually day to day! Normally when say he's day to day he sits for two weeks and you wonder why the hell the player wasn't put on the DL.

My thoughts exactly, Mark.
Can't trust a word they say... like Panik admitted; he lied about his injury.

Belt coming back quick was no shock to me because Ive broken ankles before and I knew when he put full pressure walking back to the dugout that he is nothing but a pussycake.

Sprained ankles are often tougher to come back from than broken ones. Obviously it depends on the degree of the sprain, and however painful it may have been, Brandon's clearly wasn't too bad.
Usually one can tell a fair amount about the severity of an injury from the degree of pain the player shows, but not always. I recall seeing Larry (Mr. Mean) Smith of the Warriors go down with a knee injury his pain said was "big-time surgery, out for months." Yet Larry was back the very next game.
Here's something to consider before we crucify Belt for not going back to touch second base. Boagie said Brandon may not have realized he was safe, and it's certainly something to consider. Brandon's pain may have wiped out the evidence that he was safe.
Regardless, Randy, are you perfect enough to be casting the first stone? We just don't know exactly WHAT Brandon felt or thought.
On the other hand, if we truly want to criticize a player, we can almost always come up with many ways to do so. It's really pretty simple if that's what we want.

It doesnt matter what he thought. He was off the base. As little leaguers we are taught to stay on the base when there is any doubt at all. On a play like that there is nothing sure at all. Having broken my ankle AND sprained it often, I can tell you that even the pain of breaking it would NOT have kept me from getting back to the base. But I guess if you don't care about the game or your team, then you just lay there like a lamb.

Rog -- Are we being consistent when we crucify Brandon and Shawn for these plays, yet consistently tolerate it when players don't hustle? I think we're pretty much all big Buster Posey fans, yet just the other night he was thrown out at first base on a play where had he hustled all the way, he would have reached base safely when the fielder bobbled the ball. Buster plays a tough position, so it's easier to forgive him, but he's far from the only one who doesn't really bust it. In fact, aside from Hunter Pence, there are few if any Giants who do so consistently. Should we be criticizing players when they have a brain fart that may have been caused by pain and/or misunderstanding while giving a pass to players who don't hustle with no real cause for not doing so? ***boly says***
Actually, Rog, Randy and I are both being consistent.
We both get irate when players don't hustle.
We're crucifying Estes and Belt for NOT keeping their heads in the game.
I guess it comes down to baseball instincts.
I would contend that NEITHER Estes not Belt have them, and that Randy and I, since we've both been in that situation, Do.
I would also contend that Randy and I want to win MORE than either Estes or Belt, because given the same circumstances, we DID crawl and claw to the bag.
They didn't.
