This has to be the worst managment of a pitching staff I've seen from Bochy late in the season.
And that's sad because IMHO, he's been the best I've EVER seen late in the year... but not this year.
What he's doing this season smacks of desperation.
This is not the first time he's run his bullpen into the ground this season. He is starting to remind me of Gene Mauch during the 1964 season; he road Bunning and Short and the season into oblivion by using them way, way, way too much.
This is what Bochy has done with Strickland, Romo, Osich and Casilla.
He has other choices down there. It's not like Gearrin hasn't pitched in close games.
When he brought in Romo to face Kemp, Bochy got what he deserved.
Romo's tired. It's obvious to me and everyone else from here to Jupiter.
Romo hung a slider. He let it get away again tonight, and getting hit by RHB by a hanging slider is just something that doesn't happen unless his fatigued.
And Romo, and almost everyone down there, is flat out gassed.
Yeah, it's crunch time, but it's down right foolish, 7 games out to risk careers with such an outside chance.
Not smart at all Bochy-Mauch.
Not smart.
