From the day he first took the mound, I've loved Madison Bumgarner.
There was just something about him; his demeanor, his attitude. he had a 'presence!'
He still does, and it's grown stronger and bigger.
And last night, when Bochy ordered that pass to Goldschmidt, even though it WAS the right thing to do, I simply LOVED the fury, the darned near our of control RAGE that I saw on Madison's face!
I flat out loved it!
It just added to the long list of things I LOVE about Bumgarner!
I WANT a guy like that piching for me!
Want it!
That moment reminded me of a line from the Rodney Dangerfield movie, Back to School.
Rodney is taking his oral final exams and is gassed; his mental needle is on empty. When asked by the English teacher what the poem "Charge of the Light Brigade" meant he said, "It means I don't take s__ __ t from nobody!
That's the kind of guys I want on my team!
Or to put it in other terms; if I'm in a bar fight, Madison is the kind of guy I want at my back as we fight our way to the door.

Madison is definitely the toughest SOB we've ever had taking the hill for us outside of maybe Shooter Beck. I remember when he was pitching in San Jose he treated every inning, every pitch, like it was life or death. He absolutely HATED to be removed from the game. He was mean and nasty and you damn well better not show him up in any way.

I was lucky enough to make an educated guess as to when it would be and go there with my son. We watched him take his first bullpen there with Buster Posey. It was said that he needed secondary pitches, but as I posted at the time, they looked pretty good in the bullpen and I was disappointed he didn't use them more in the game.
