all of the Giant players should now be wearing a new Tee shirt with I PLAY WITH STUPID on the front, and an arrow pointing towards first base on the back.
After watching Brandon Belt play for over four years, IMHO he is the DUMBEST player I've seen since Marvelous Marv Throneberry, who, after dropping a routine pop up said to Yogi Berra; "I lost it in the moon."
It's not the error that I'm ticked with. Errors happen.
What I'm ticked about are his two gallactically STUPID base running plays!
1 he got away with the other he didn't.
1st, on his triple. They jackass slide late, and OVER SLIDE the bag! And got away with it because the throw was off line!
It's not the first, second, third, or twelfth time he's done that.
He does it all the time!
But worse is, what I contend, the play that ultimately proved to be the pivotal moment of the game; NOT paying attention on his double, and getting foolishly caught off the bag.
He just doesn't have what I consider to be basic baseball instincts.
He often seems lost on the bases, not knowing where the ball is, or where other players are.
In a word, he's a baseball IDIOT!
I've seen some dumb players in my 50+ years of watching the game, but I've decided that, if he's NOT a top the list, he's close.
all that talent in the body, all of that lack of matter between his ears.
Reminds me of an article I heard written about Dizzy Dean.
As the runner in the middle of a DP, Dean got nailed in the head by the throw to 1B.
Next day the paper said something to the effect of, "X-Rays of Dizzy's head reveal nothing."
boly
