I think Bochy said we called up a catcher NOT on the 40 man roster; An Austin Jackson?
The only Austin Jackson I've ever heard of is a CF.
I looked through our farm rosters, and I couldn't find this guy.
Anyone know what he's done for where ever he's playing?
And HEY! I was joking about Eli Whiteside suiting up!
Guess Hactor wasn't listening.

Career minor leaguer who started with the Giants, left for awhile, I believe, then returned, like so many of them do. I guess Buster will catch everyday until he drops.

Thanks, Randy.
About 30 minutes after I made the post I figured out that I didn't quite have the right name, and then went and looked him up.
I was mildly surprised they choose him over others, and then I thought, well, the guy probably has some ML experience, which he does, which is why the Giants decided to bring him up.
Something like 14 at bats for Colorado last year.

That for sure, and also because he's caught Giants pitchers before, in the minors and spring training.

Watching him swing the bat yesterday showed you why he's a career minor leaguer

Yeah. I agree, Mark.
That was pretty sad.
Then again, so were the at bats by Belt and Crawford and anyone else not named Posey.
So much for getting hot when you needed to get hot.

Meanwhile Joe Panik is out a month, comes back as a pinch hitter and immediately bombs one over the center fielder's head. Man, we missed that!
