Oh, boy. Pagan's back. Whoopie.
Pardon me if I don't do back flips on this one.
Yeah, I can see he's running better.
Yeah, I can see more pop in his bat.
But what I ALSO see is the same old same old nonsense at the plate; that same old same old BEING, he does NOT GET what it means to be a lead off hitter.
he doesn't!
And he proves it game, after game after game.
Last 2 games, he gets counts 2-0, 3-1... and then promptly CHASES the next pitch (which is a marginal strike or NOT in the strike zone at all!!!!!) and mostly hits it weakly some where.
This guy is NOT, as I've been saying for years, NOT a freakin' one hole guy!
He is NOT.
He has a year left on his deal, and I'm hoping he finishes the year strongly... so we can move him.
I've had ENOUGH of his schtick! E-FREAKIN'-NUFF.
Give me Aoki, or someone like him.
Someone who KNOWS how to work a pitcher and get the freak on base!
Not another clown like Pagan, who comes off the bench in swing mode.
No... thank... you!

Funny comment I saw this weekend is that Angel Pagan just has one less home run this year than Ryan Vogelsong!

The irony is, that you can SEE that Angel's legs are stronger.
Much more bat speed, 6 cylinder bat speed, through the zone... problem is, SAME 'ol 4 cylinder brain!

The irony is, that you can SEE that Angel's legs are stronger. Much more bat speed, 6 cylinder bat speed, through the zone Rog -- Angel got off to a fast start in September, hit his first home run later in the day after Boly's post, and add two more later in the month. In September, Angel hit each of his three homers on the year. Angel hit a decent .274/.762 in September, far more powerful than his .262/.635 on the season. If the Giants can pick up a good outfielder who can play center field, the outfield could be both decent and deep. We all agree that moving Angel to left would improve the defense, and with Angel's hitting left-handers better and Gregor's hitting right-handers, they could have nice depth at the position. In theory, Pagan and Blanco could play any of the three outfield positions. Just think if the new center fielder is a good leadoff hitter. Even better would be a power hitter, but the guys who can both play center field and hit for power are rare and hard to acquire. The Giants may have acquired very nice early Christmas presents in Cueto and Samardzija, and the new outfielder could tie it all up in a bow.
