A not hitter was the last thing on my mind when Heston took the mound tonight.
But in the first inning I commented aloud, (to nobody because I was all alone), "wow! I haven't seen him have this much movement since his Houston start!"
I still think he had better 'stuff' that day, but he was really, really good tonight.
I love the way Flannery pointed out that there were virtually NO do or die plays to save the no hitter.
And I also loved how carried away and emotional he is when discussing the long, twisty road Chris took to GET here!
I also loved Chris's repeated comment: "I'm so blessed!"
And wasn't it fun watching BOTH Duffy AND Panik going deep?
Great at bats by the entire Giant team in the game, too.
Krukow pointed out how THIS team is so much different than past teams; PATIENT hitters!
I lost count of how many times people on this board, me included, bitched and moaned, in the past, that they were NOT patient, and NEEDED to be!
Nicely done!
Now, go out and do it again against a better pitcher tomorrow!

They did! By the way I was at the Heston no hitter and it was amazing! I was at the Jim Bunning perfect game in 1964, but it wasn't our team and I was only nine so I appreciated this one far more. We Giants fans are truly blessed . Three championships in five years, four years in a row with no hitters and five in seven years. Incredible. I'm starting to feel stupid when I bitch and moan!

I'm glad you got to see that, Mark. I still haven't seen one in person, but I was one out from seeing Garrelts do it in '89 I think it was, maybe '90.
And you're right, this is definitely the golden age of baseball in San Francisco, we are all blessed to be witnessing it. Yet, we seem to forget that
I still think the best motto the Giants used was "there's magic inside." I think that best represents what we've seen during the Bochy area.

Totally agree, Boagie! A MUCH better motto than "Together, we're Giant!" Personally, I prefer watching on TV. Replays, I can go back and watch replays again. Plus, I don't have to share the can with 43,000 other people! boly

I also was at the Garrelts near no-no...I was a partial season ticket holder back in those days. I remember believing a Giant would never throw a no-no again. At least not in my lifetime. Scotty definitely clenched way up in the late innings that day. I sat in the same section as the drummer from Faith No More...he was easy to spot because he had dreadlocks down to his knees and sat next to these old timers. They always were having a ball.

my fave Giant motto was I Feel Good, with the James Brown song being played after big wins and on tv ads. I also liked "You Gotta Like These Kids"
