Pablo was talking again yesterday. When asked about the Huff criticism, he replied, "Who is Aubrey Huff? Look where he is now and look where I am?" Pablo, I think the fact that he's much older than you is the reason you're playing and he's out of baseball these days. That's like saying you're better than Willie Mays, because you're playing and nobody's signed him this year! Looking at the Huff vs. Sandoval comments on social media yesterday shows how much the fans have turned on Pablo. He was always a more popular player than Huff, but not anymore! His comments after leaving have become more a source of disgust than Jeff Kent's.

Mark, the one thing my aging brain keeps going back to is... how the current Giant players are processing what Pablo has been saying.
Now this is just me; no one else but ME. But IF I'm one of our guys, listening to the nonsense coming out of Fatso's mouth, I'm more than a little perturbed. In fact, what I'm feeling is that of having been betrayed.
Hey, every major leaguer knows it's a business, and that trades and FA moves are part of it.
But burning bridges behind you? Giving potential opponents a REASON to want to kick your fanny on the field? That's just not smart. In fact, it borders on the stupid.
IF I'm a Giant, and Lord, I wish I was every day of my life, Fatso just kicked my already hyper, Pence-like motivation into high gear.
Fatso has just given me one MORE reason to go out there and win it all, to make him regret, or eat his words.
But that's just me.
Even so, I'm BETTING many Giants are thinking the exact same thing.

I don't see how Pablo's comments can be a negative for the Giants. It could motivate, and it could also make his loss as a person less.

I think the original interview was possibly hurtful to the Giants but this little spat with Huff wouldn't bother me too much although I would be sad for both of these former Giants engaging in something this publicly juvenile. Huff is an ex-player turned radio whore desperate for attention and this Pablo thing is giving him relevance again when he had none before it started. Pablo shouldn't be commenting...if he just let Huff flap his gums, people really would be asking who the hell this Huff guy is.

With the ridiculous failure in odd numbered years and the offseason failure by Sabean and the FO, refusing to help the team, the team should have plenty of motivation. The question is can they overcome the numerous question marks and obstacles.

Randy -- the offseason failure by Sabean and the FO, refusing to help the team Rog -- How is it a failure when the Giants actually kept it together pretty well with a salary increase of $20 million to spend? And before you criticize that again, they spent within $7 million of the increases before 2010 and 2012 COMBINED. How did those two years turn out? If the Giants increased their payroll more this past winter than in either of the two before 2010 and 2012, how can you be critical? If you had criticized them for spending only an extra $13 million before the 2012 season, you would have given up on it before the season rather than with two months to go, as you did. Speaking of which, how in the world can you expect to have credibility after that one? How many people have given up on a team with two months to go -- and then seen that team win the World Series? Rog, who said anything about it 'hurting' the Giants.
Your second sentence was my precise point; it would motivate the living CRAP outta me, which is exactly what I said.

I think we agree here, Boly. I wasn't trying to contest what you said; I was trying to amplify it.

Which you did! Excellent!
By the way, when you start reading my books, please do 3 things for me:
1-Let us know which character you liked the best, and why.
2-Which character didnt' you like, and why.
3-Be honest. If you didn't care for any of the 3 books in the Trilogy, just let me know where we missed the mark.
Also, in case I hadn't mentioned this before, the character, Klaigge, is based upon me, and the wisecracking, run-you-through-with-a-sword-just-as-soon-as-look-at-you, is a chariacture of Candee.
She was the most fun to write, followed by Ted the Yellow, and Tarbuck

Were any of the characters based, closely or loosely, on any of us here or from the AOL board?

Actually, I've received the book but haven't quite started it yet. I'm fighting library deadlines, but I'm not far away. And now I know which characters to be leery of! By the way, you portrayed a caricature of Candee and live to tell about it? If I did that with Barbara, she would in no way let it affect the high grade of dog food she would feed me in my new, cozy house! Randy:
Actually, no. My brother and I began writing the Trilogy in 1990, and completed all 3 books prior to the end of 1999.
We needed "starting points" from which to build it character, and since we all weren't on the board back then, regretfully, no.
