Love him or hate him; like him or dislike him; respect his comments or blow them off.
I don't care which camp one is in, but I, for one, found his comments on Lincecum so similar to mine. Basically he said that Tim has been terrible; that can say all he wants to about how he's so much better; how his time with his dad fixed his mechanics. But until he SEES IT ON THE FIELD, it's all just rhetoric.
It was very comforting to me, personally, to hear him echo what I've been saying.
I want the guy to return to form.
As a Giant fan, I know we NEED both he AND Cain to return to close to what they once were.
But until it happens...
Well, we all wait and see.

his first spring outing was a decent one...1 IP, 1 hit allowed, 0 BBs, 2 Ks but also 2 WPs. Work to do still but from what I hear he jumped ahead 0-2 to all 4 hitters faced

Rog -- I'm nicely optimistic about Matt, and as usual don't have a clue about Tim. One possible good sign with Tim yesterday. He did bounce two secondary pitches that Andrew Susac was unable to block, leading the the A's run. But I believe those may have been the only two balls he threw. I believe he was ahead of each of the four hitters 0-2. I think he had very good fastball command yesterday, and that would be a huge key for the upcoming season.
