So now we learn that Cain will be held out of early Spring Training games...this a day after Pagan was held out of team workouts for a third straight day. Not off to a flying start

Cain being held out is just a precautionary move by Bochy, not a setback in his rehab. Cain is scheduled to throw live batting practice tomorrow.
Pagan's neck stiffness is a bit more worrisome, but nothing to panic about just yet.

I'm leaning towards Randy's thouights here, guys.
Yeah... I heard what Bochy said.
But this is the SAME guy who LAST YEAR said that Cain was "okay," and they were just being precautionary.
Horse poopy.
Managers and front office people are sounding more and more like Politicians every day.
I no longer believe one word that comes out of their mouths.
First it was Romo's sore shoulder. What? He was in camp one day and he already had a sore shoulder? From what?
Now Cain gets pushed back, and Pagan has a sore neck.
I see a pattern here, and I'm betting it's the same one that Randy sees.
And frankly, I don't like what it.
We're just in the preliminary stages of spring... and 'things' are starting to unravel as many of us feared they would.
1-WHEN Can actually pitches in that first spring start, MAYBE I'll relax.
But the thing is, I'll bet it's 50-50 they push him back again.
2-IF Pagan plays a fair amount in the 10 games, then I'll relax. Right now, that "neck stiffness" concerns me. Stiff due to what?
A neck stiffness diagnosis smacks of a horse manure excuse coving for something else.
3-Bottom line: I don't believe a word that comes out the mouths of leadership on ANY team.

If there were ANY concern over Cain's arm, he wouldn't be throwing live batting practice today. If he weren't throwing today I might be worried.

We will see if it is nada or algo grande soon enough. That's how backs and necks are...you give them a few days off and you feel better but then when you begin activity again they can flare up more. I admit that I am relieved a bit that Cain is throwing live BP today but this is a guy who has always been a "horse"...if he was truly all the way healed, they would not have need to hold him back even a little bit. Especially since after all the time off he needs as much work as possible to get his form back.

Randy -- call it what you want...he's going to be behind schedule...it's not a good thing however the Giants spin it Rog -- Why all this talk about how the Giants spin things? I haven't found them to be particularly disingenuous. I don't think Matt is much off schedule for a guy returning from two surgeries. And apparently Tim Hudson is ahead of schedule. Randy -- We will see if it is nada or algo grande soon enough. Rog -- I do have concerns about Pagan's back and have had them ever since he missed considerable time with it. I would have liked the Giants to have picked up a 5th outfielder (preferably hitting right-handed). On the other hand, Blanco is a very good 5th outfielder who has shown he can fill in for long periods of time. The Giants improve defensively when Gregor is in center, and surprisingly, he showed bigger power last season than Angel. One positive this season is that the Giants enter it with only Pagan in the outfield with a significant history of injury. Last season with Morse, it was two.
