El Dooderino -- Unfortunately 2015 is another odd year and instead of getting better we got worse in the offseason. Rog -- If the Giants got healthy enough, they may have gotten better. If not, look for Blanco, Ishikawa and Perez to get lots of starts, just as they did when the Giants won the World Series. Which lineup is better, Randy? Blanco Panik Sandoval Posey Pence Belt Ishikawa Crawford or Pagan Panik Belt Posey Pence McGehee Aoki Crawford ? Seriously, which one is better? Sandoval, Blanco and Ishikawa or McGehee, Pagan and Aoki? How about a rotation of Bumgarner, Peavy, Hudson and Vogelsong or Bumgarner, Cain, Peavy and Hudson? Seriously, which one would you rather have? Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/2709/food?page=1#ixzz3Rz20o7QV

hey Stats Bag...you have no more clue than I or the rest of us have. I cited Forbes magazine...the Giants take in more revenue than all but 3 teams. They are not poor. If they use money as an excuse than Boly is 100% that they are liars. I say they lack the balls and desire because they know as well as anyone WHY they keep failing to obtain contracts with top FAs. If they do NOT know then they are stupid and need to be replaced...I don't assume they are stupid. I assume they know how to fix it, but they refuse to do what it takes. Whether it be money or some other factor.

Which lineup is better, Randy?
Dood - it's an invalid comparison...you need to compare what the team is now to what it WOULD be right now if Pablo and/or Morse was retained instead of picking off other teams' table scraps

An advantage and a surprise I found for Aoki over Blanco. I assumed Blanco advanced runners more bases than Aoki, since Blanco has more power and would seem to pull more than Aoki. In actuality though, last season Nori advanced runners 1.41 bases per single, while Gregor advanced them only 1.28.
I expected the opposite. A surprising advantage to Aoki.

El Dooderino -- hey Stats Bag...you have no more clue than I or the rest of us have. Rog -- Perhaps not, but you showed insecurity by having to call me a name. El Dooderino -- I cited Forbes magazine...the Giants take in more revenue than all but 3 teams. Rog -- But you looked only at the chart Forbes put in, not what they actually wrote. Your research was insufficient, and you reached the wrong conclusion. El Dooderion -- They are not poor. Rog -- You are correct. That is what enables them to spend in the top quartile despite not having a multi-billion media contract. El Dooderino -- If they use money as an excuse than Boly is 100% that they are liars. Rog -- Cool. What is the lie they told? El Dooderino -- I say they lack the balls and desire because they know as well as anyone WHY they keep failing to obtain contracts with top FAs. Rog -- You know as well as anyone why you aren't a billionaire. Do you lack the balls and desire? El Dooderino -- If they do NOT know then they are stupid and need to be replaced... Rog -- Cool. Which owners would you replace them with? I don't assume they are stupid. I assume they know how to fix it, but they refuse to do what it takes. Whether it be money or some other factor. Rog -- They didn't lose Sandoval, Lester or Shields because of money. What would you have done to acquire those players? I like it that you don't assume they are stupid, yet you assume they are liars. Read more: sfgiantsmessageboard.proboards.com/thread/2709/food?page=2#ixzz3RzDoKDAT

Which lineup is better, Randy? Dood - it's an invalid comparison... Rog -- How so? When we look at how good we expect the Giants will be this season, wouldn't we start with the players they won the World Championship with, then add and subtract the players added and subtracted? El Dooderino --you need to compare what the team is now to what it WOULD be right now if Pablo and/or Morse was retained instead of picking off other teams' table scraps Rog -- That doesn't answer the question as to whether they'll be better or worse this season than they were in October, 2014. Isn't that the most important question? Obviously if the Giants had been able to sign Pablo and Morse rather than McGehee and Morse, they would be better off. They would also have spent about $20 million more per season in payroll and have committed an additional $57 million beyond 2016. By the way, did you know the Giants are spending over $50 million more on payroll this season than the Padres are? And yet you call them cheap. You know why the Padres could afford all the moves they made this off-season? Because they got a multi-billion media contract.
