Obviously, most of the post season spots are spoken for, but some things are still up in the air.
Like the 4th starter.
Petit, IMHO, has earned that 4th spot, though I DOUBT Bochy will give it to him.
I believe his logic will be: Petit has more experience coming out of the pen.
I also believe Gutierrez should be out, and Strickland in.
I'd find a place for Duffy, too.

The 4th starter (and even the 3rd) is a tough call.
Clearly Bumgarner and Peavy are #1 and #2. Madison will pitch the Wild Card game, and if the Giants win that, Peavy will open the NLDS, meaning he would pitch twice if necessary.
Meanwhile, Hudson, Vogelsong and Petit each have their plusses -- and minuses. Tim is the guy one would expect to be #3, but he's stunk of late and hasn't really been very effective for a month and a half. Vogelsong is nothing special, but he's steady. Petit has been pitching the best of the three.
Being a sinker ball pitcher, Hudson may be the best qualified of the three to pitch on the road. Vogelsong and Petit are fly ball pitchers whose efforts are more rewarded by pitching at AT&T.
I think the Giants will go with Hudson and Vogelsong, but I'd roll the dice with Vogelsong and Petit.
As for the seven other pitchers, the Giants could keep both Gutierrez and Strickland on the roster. Throw in the two lefties and the three set up men/closers, and you've got your dozen. I think Tim Lincecum will be there instead of Gutierrez though.
The catchers will clearly be Posey and Susac.
The infield is set with Belt, Panik, Crawford, Sandoval, Arias and Duffy.
That actually leaves five spots for outfielders. Pence and Blanco are no-brainers. So is Morse, if he's healthy. That leaves spots for Perez and Ishikawa. If Morse can't go, Dominguez likely gets the call. Remember too that Dominguez has played shortstop (!) as well as both corner infield and outfield positions at Fresno this season.

For me, believe it or not, Lincecum or Gutierrez is a no brainer. He's out.
Tim IS throwing well... well, better, Juan is not.
He puts his fielders to sleep because he works too slowly, and for me, is even MORE inconsistant than Tim.
In another post I addressed both Morse and Dominguez. I can't see Morse being on the wild card, nor the round 1 rosters.

Isn't it a head scratcher that Mike Morse came up as a shortstop and Chris Dominguez played 33 games there this season.
I see Dominguez is now 1 for 17. If Gary Brown shows something today, who knows?
