Candee and I were at lunch at one of or normal places, and in the bar, we could see the Dodger game on TV as we entered.
Score read 7-2 LA.
I was not a happy camper.
20 minutes later I glance across the room at the TV and see that the score is 7-6.
I start thinking... maybe the Cubs have a chance, especially with Brian Wilson on the mound.
Moments later I see that Coughlyn has hit his 2nd HR of the day, and Wilson takes the loss.
Made my entire afternoon.
I couldn't stand that guy when he was a Giant.
I hated him even WORSE when he became a Dodger, and then, when mouthed off to Larry Bear at a game, that was the kicker.
He would be for ever on my POO-POO list I don't CARE what he did for us.
IMHO, he was, is, and continues to be a gallactic jackass as a person.

He was the closer for our first world championship in 2010 and I admire his work ethic and his determination in coming back from not one but two different Tommy John surgeries. His "Fear The Beard" thing in 2010 was a lot of fun, but I think the notoriety went to his head after that and he became a bit of a jerk. The Baer thing was bitterness about the Giants not offering him arbitration and making him a free agent. It was a sound baseball move, but you can't blame the player for being disappointed. I root against him because he's a Dodger, but if he had signed elsewhere I'd probably still root for him today.

He was a huge part of our World Series win, Mark, and I thank him for that.
I agree about his work ethic.
My comments addressed HIM as a person, nothing more.
I don't think it was the "fear the beard" thing that went to his head, though, because I massively disliked him long before that.
I commented many times about his off the field actions and the way he constantly was acting like an ass to bring attention to himself.
See, Mark, I'm condemned by my past. The way I was raised dictates my observations and opinions
I was raised at a time when one was taught to be humble; that if you were good, everyone knew it and you didn't need to tell them.
You didn't dress outrageously or do things just so people would "look at you."
Brian is the poster child for all the things I was brought up to believe were wrong.
Now add to that, that Wilson calls himself a Christian.
Scripture talks about 'being humble' in our words and actions.
That it's about 'others,' not 'self.'
By his constant actions and the stupid stuff that comes out of his mouth, he gives Christians a bad name. His actions and the things he does paint us all poorly because, since he's in the limelight of the media, what he does, how he dresses and talks, reflects upon all of us.
He's a terrible Christian role model. Terrible! From his tatoos to his clothes.
He has become one of the very, very major leaguers I root against.
Others were Ricky Henderson, and Manny Ramirez.
You might agree with my assessment or disagree, but I have valid reasons for ME as to why I don't like him.
