Yeah... 3 back. Not where we wanted to be, and it's hard to find the silver lining in this dark cloud.
But I have one, and it's huge.
LA, as I mentioned in another post, now really only has 2 solid(albeit excellent) starters.
You can't win with just 2.
They are BEATABLE when Greinke and Kershaw are not on the mound.
Very beatable.
Right now we're on the outside looking in... but with 14 to go, we must take care of business, and let the Dodger's poor 3-4-5 starters screw up theirs.
My fingers are crossed.

One could certainly argue that the Giants also have only two solid starters -- Bumgarner and Peavy. Even Peavy was very poor in the first half of the season and could certainly revert.
And if we are going to call Peavy a solid starter, we should also add Dan Haren for the Dodgers. Haren's season has gone similarly to Peavy's -- bad early; good lately.
The Giants will need to get very, very hot, or the Dodgers will need to go very, very cold for the Giants to win the West.
It's certainly possible. At this point if we strongly believe it will happen, we should go to Las Vegas and take advantage of our prescience.

Haren has been better in his last 8 starts or so, that's for sure, but I'm not betting the house on him, like I'm not betting the house on Peavy, either.
Last 2 years, Haren ERA 4.33, and 4.67.
Pevy 3.37 4.17
I don't like either for my #2 or 3 guy in the playoffs, but I'll take Peavy in a heartbeat over Haren.
Though they are both the same age, more or less, IMHO, Peavy has More heart, more fire, better track record over the last 2 years (not counting this one).
And I'm a big believer in track records.
Peavy's is better.
