Now that the Giants' depth has gotten charged up, their biggest weakness might be the rotation. And the Giants are a good team in part because starting pitching really isn't that big a weakness. In fact, given that Matt Cain is out and Tim Lincecum is off, it has held up remarkably well.

On the radio this morning going to work, a Dodger station was ripping the Giants a new one.
"Other than Posey, there's no one in the line up to fear. How are they doing it?"
"They're not that good."
That's just some of what they had to say.
I think the Giant team is best summed up by a volitile moron who visits his step father across the street. Huge Dodger fan. I was over at Juan's house when his step son came in...I thought, "Oh, crap. Here we go."
But I was wrong.
"Your team always plays together," he said. "Always.
"It's not like that on the Dodgers. Eveyrone is doing their own thing."
He's right.

90% of what a player does that benefits himself personally also benefits the team.
With regard to the lineup, the Giants have just one superstar -- but very few weaknesses.
One thing I will say about the Bay Area Giants media. They're pretty objective. It's more the fans like us who go overboard in each direction.
Let's take a look at tonight's lineup and how we have evaluated some of tonight's players over the course of the season:
Pagan -- Each of the past two seasons we have said that Angel is the juice that makes the engine run. No question the Giants have been a much better team when Angel has been healthy. But if one looks closely, the Giants were slumping before Angel went out this season, and they continued to slump right after he came back.
The Giants lost five of the last six Pagan played in before the injury, and each of the first five after he came back.
Panik -- We've been looking at him pretty much all season long, although he has certainly outperformed our expectations once he got here.
Posey -- Except for Don and for our examining how streaky a hitter Buster is, we've been rather supportive overall.
Sandoval -- Lots of criticism when he got off to a very poor start.
Pence -- Not much criticism, even though Hunter got off to a horrible start as well.
Blanco -- Unfairly crucified, he's bounce back with a vengeance.
Arias -- Given up for dead, Joaquin too has rebounded strongly.
Crawford -- Pretty much given up on dead, Brandon has been a very nice hitter his past 18 games, raising his average from .229 to .238. We did mention that he almost certainly would bounce back before the season ended.
Based on how we have treated tonight's lineup at various times of the year, we should be ECSTATIC with how they're performing now.

Rog, until you got to Blanco, I agreed. But he was NOT unfairly criticized. Not at all.
He HAD to fill in for the 2nd time in 2 years and he did his best "Titanic after hitting the iceberg" imitation. WE needed him, the TEAM needed him, HE stunk.
Period.
Get off to a bad start and you can be excused.
1/2 through the season and thrust into the starting lineup? He's human, I get it, but he also deserves the criticism he gets.
