I guess everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but it was nice to hear Joe Buck yesterday say that you could make a really good case for the Giants winning the NL West.
Right now... Right now... not next week, not next month, but right now, we are the best in the NL West.
Not that that means a thing, but I, for one, never expected a start like this.
Not for a moment.
Pablo hadn't hit a lick until yesterday, not much from Pence, and Affeldt not with the club... and still they got done what needed to be done.
All of this clutch hitting won't last; at least not at the level it's been happening, but opening a season like this is nice.
I'm gonna just enjoy riding the wave for a while, and hope we can keep everyone healthy.

They talked on the broadcast last night about Pablo and the Giants exchanging contract offers, so I'm thinking this will get done before too long. I have to admit I have worries about Matt Cain. Three homeruns, and probably could have been seven. Just hanging pitches all over the place.

Matt, Tim Lincecum and Ryan Vogelsong need to keep their home runs allowed down if they are to be effective IMO.
A year ago, Matt was giving them up like this year, but he cut down on them considerably in the season's second half.
