Interesting article came in today. It ranked all of MLB rotations.
I thought everyone might be interested in how our division teams were ranked.
San Diego-24th
*Claimed that their season depended upon rebounds by Ian Kennedy and Josh Johnson. --Personally, I can see a good chance in a rebound from Kennedy under Balsley, but not Johnson. I think he has other problems.
Arizona-18
SF-11th
LA-4th
they projected:
Kershaw, Greinke, Ryu, Haren, Beckett as the order.
*I find it interesting that they QUESTIONED Kennedy and Johnson rebounding, but did NOT question Haren and Beckett!
To me, that's hipocritical. Neither Haren nor Beckett had seasons to be proud of.
I find their 4 and 5 spots to be as big a question mark as our 4 and 5. There's, maybe even more se.

It probably has to do with Johnson and Kennedy being at the top of the SD rotation, while Haren and Beckett are at the bottom of LA's rotation.

Darn good answer, Randy. I still think the Dodgers will add another starter.

They just signed Maholm, who I would put ahead of Beckett. Even if they start with Beckett, he'll quit on them by the end of April.

I don't know about Beckett, other than that I know he's had a lot of arm injuries over the years, but I like Maholm. You mentioned him last summer, and I thought it was a good thought on your part. Unfortunately, he kind of fell apart the second half of the season, but if he's healthy (which might have been part of his second-half problem), I still like Maholm.
I thought the Dodgers would pick up a more high-profile starter. I'm a little surprised they didn't pick up on Bronson Arroyo. He's old, but he's been consistent and not shown clear signs of slowing down as far as I know. His 2/$23 contract seemed to me to be low-risk.
