Michael Morse says he's not worried that playing in AT&T would hurt his power numbers too badly. Basically, he's saying that he's got the sock to hit them anywhere. He also says he feels 100% healthy and ready for the new season.
As I mentioned before Morse hit 18 dingers last season in an injury-shortened and effected season, playing in a ballpark just as unfriendly to HR hitters as AT&T, Safeco Field. That's nearly as impressive as his 31 HR 2011 season in DC, all things considered. Before he got hurt last year, Morse hit 9 bombs in the first 30 games. No wonder he's not intimidated! Keep him healthy and we should be happy with the production, I'm pretty sure.

Randy, I totally agree.
He had bone chips removed, not a broken, or sprained wrist.
To me, that changes everything.
It wasn't like Galarraga; not a major injury.
As Allen said previously; he could turn out to be a real jewell.

I've seen his highlights where he takes a bad swing, pops it up to the opposite field, and it goes out by 50 feet. If a right hander has yet to go into the cove, he could be the guy.

If a fight breaks out, I'm on his side! The guy is powerful! All the stats guys are condemning the Giants for this signing because Blanco is so much better defensively, but I love this risk.

Blanco can field, but he lost me last year with the long slump. We need more consistency than that. Plus he doesn't run enough for someone with his speed.

I have changed my mind -- twice -- on Morse.
A year ago I hoped the Giants would get him. When they got him, I too was swayed by the horrible defensive stats he has put up. But after discussion here, I became cautiously optimistic about him. I'm delighted to hear his wrist injury was minor. I do know it was arthroscopic surgery he had performed on it.
One thing that is surprising about is how well Morse has hit righties. IIRC his .809 OPS against righties is right there with his .826 against southpaws.
As for Blanco, when he was slumping badly in July and August, at least he was drawing walks and playing good defense. He is indeed a streaky hitter, but as a platoon player, I don't think he's too bad. Remember, the Giants continued to play well in 2012 even after Melky Cabrera was suspended.
Blanco and likely Perez should complement Morse well. It appears Morse can hold his own against righties and thus while he needs defensive help, isn't a guy who needs to be platooned. It will be nice if the Giants can acquire a lead in Morse's first two or three at bats, allowing the Giants to bring in Blanco or Perez for defense and occasional pinch running.
