This is the area where the Giants will concentrate on improving between now and ST. Assuming a 12 man staff and the starting 8 already in place, that leaves 5 bench players to be determined.
Further assuming no trades take place before pitchers and catchers report, Sanchez is a lock to be the backup catcher, obviously and Blanco is the 4th outfielder. I wouldn't be opposed to bringing Arias back as a utility infielder and I assume Juan Perez would have a shot at being the 5th outfielder, leaving one spot open. I'm interested to see who gets invited to camp to complete the roster.

Pretty good assessment, Randy.
I WISH we weren't carry so DARNED MANY pitchers, but that has been Bochy's history.
Other than Blanco, none of those guys has a good PH history. And I HATE using Sanchez as the first guy off the bench BECAUSE he's the back up catcher.
Now, IF were were to keep a 3rd catcher, I'd have no problem with that.
Like you, I'm curious.

a 12 man staff is pretty standard these days, Boly...it's not just Bochy. Some even go with 13 or 14 to start the season.

I think you pretty much have the bench already. You have Hector and Juan Perez, and three guys who the Giants are keeping because they offered arbitration. Blanco, Arias and the name you didn't mention, Tony Abreu.

Mark -- I think you pretty much have the bench already. You have Hector and Juan Perez, and three guys who the Giants are keeping because they offered arbitration. Blanco, Arias and the name you didn't mention, Tony Abreu. Rog -- I hope the Giants bring in another infielder and outfielder to compete, but the bench will likely be just as you indicate, Mark. I do think the Giants will still add a reliever. Right now I guess the bullpen would be Romo, Casilla, Lopez, Affeldt and Hembree, with the final pair to be made up among George Kontos, Jake Dunning, Yusmeiro Petit and the newly signed lefty Jose De Paula. The Giants have also signed Erik Cordier, who last season struck out 65 in 51 innings at AAA Indianapolis. The first organized game I ever saw was in Indy, with the Minneapolis Millers playing against Indianapolis.
