Brandon is nine for his last 12, with a couple of homers. Continuing the hot second half of last year. Hope so. Also noted that a guy named Bonser started the split squad game yesterday and threw one scoreless inning. Is this the infamous Boof?

Todd Linden is also back with the Giants at age 32.
By the way, does anyone know Boof's first name?
Does anyone know Buster Posey's nickname?

By the way, does anyone know Boof's first name? Boof i believe is in fact his real first name
Does anyone know Buster Posey's nickname? Buster. I can't remember Buster's real first name. It's one of those names that makes perfect sense why he goes with Buster.

Very nice job, Boagie.
I like to refer to the former Giants and Twins pitcher as Boof (No nickname needed) Bonser.
Regarding Buster, when he was a rookie, Marty Lurie went so far on his postgame show as to ask if the listeners could come up with a nickname for the rookie catcher.
Someone finally called in and mentioned that a good nickname for Posey would be "Buster." Not a bad idea, actually.

Buster Posey, born Gerald Dempsey Posey III was named after his father and grandfather..."Buster" was also Gerald I's nickname. His father, Gerald II, goes by "Demp." It's a family of nicknames.

As for Bonser, I believe he had a regular name at one time, but had his name legally changed to Boof. Baseball reference lists him as Boof Bonser.
