The season isn't even over yet, but in a way it is. The Gints ain't dead, but Da Bums is. So here begins my season grades.
Tim Lincecum -- Never has a player rated so highly fallen so far so fast -- at least as far as I know.
Tim began this season with a sub-3.00 ERA. He spent much of the season ABOVE 6.00, and only last night did he fall below 5.00. For much of the season he had fallen from the ace to the farce.
Perhaps we'll never know how Tim's fall came about. Tim himself doesn't seem to know.
But to his credit, he never stopped working, and his 3.06 ERA in the 2nd half is the best in the Giants' rotation.
In the 2nd half, Tim has thankfully raised his F- grade to a D. Which begs an intriguing question:
Where should Tim start in the postseason rotation? In something of a coincidental situation, his would be the next spot in the rotation when the season ends.
Here is a guy who some wondered if he would even be on the postseason roster. As recently as a few weeks ago there was a question as to whether he would be higher than the 4th starter.
How do things look now? This one should generate a little discussion.
