I've seen a ton of Kieschnick's at bats... and I have to say, inspite of his 3 for 4 last night... I'm STILL not impressed with his bat speed.
Not at all.
I read, and Mark confirmed, that he hit with power in the minor leagues, but he hasn't shown the ability to drive the ball since he's been with us.
Be nice if he at least hit some long outs.
All we've seen are singles not that well struck most of the time.
Still, as someone on the board recently pointed out (Mark?) Posey didn't exactly light it up when he had his 2009 call up.
But if Rogy the K wants to be the regular left fielder in 2014, he'd better show more pop.

He's actually been better than I thought he would be, I'm happy for him. I seriously doubt he'll be able to convince them that he should be their starting left fielder though. He could lock up a fourth outfielder slot though.

He could lock up a fourth outfielder slot though. Rog -- Kieschnick's ceiling may be as a fourth outfielder, but he's likely somewhere between a 5th outfielder and a Four-A player. Kieschnick's career batting average in the minors is .275, although his pop has been good.
