Considering what we've seen from Kontos, Macchi and Dunning lately (lots of runs, lots of baserunners, lots of inherited runners scoring), I wouldn't mind bringing B-weeze back to the bullpen. It's reported he's hitting 93, 94 with some snap. I would say the guy's healthy again. I still don't like his act but maybe if he's not THE GUY, he'll tone it down some. He's going to be pitching in the big leagues soon...it's just a matter of with whom. That's the deal Id prefer because it wont cost us prospects.

I agree, Randy. I've been thinking the exact same thing.
It can't hurt.
Kontos has pretty much stunk up the lot all year long, and I'm not sold on Rosario or Dunning.

Unless he has burned his bridges or the Giants simply think the risk after his second Tommy John surgery is too high, I would assume they would be interested. If they have become sellers, they might be able to ease him in this season while signing him for another season or two. If he's healthy though, the bidding will likely be steep. I like Rosario. He's a good fit in his current role.Dunning might be able to use some more seasoning, and some more weight. Wilson? What role would you put him in? Think he would enjoy a subordinate role? How much do we have to pay him?

I dont think ANY team is going to automatically just plug Wilson into the closer's role, whether he's happy with it or not. I doubt he expects that at this point. I have no idea what he would get in terms of salary but set up relievers generally dont make a whole lot of coin.

The attraction he'd generate from me as a Giants fan would be more than just the results...it would create some much needed excitement. Get the fans into it. This is why I think the Giants would be the first choice for Wilson, the first time that "Jump around" song plays the fans will go nuts at AT&T, it wouldn't be quite nearly the spectacle anywhere else.

Man, let's concentrate on winning games rather than trying to put some kind of circus sideshow out there.. From a drawing card standpoint, the Giants don't need Wilson., they already sell out every game. Can he pitch? That's the question.

I believe the Giants recently watched Brian pitch at USF and that Brian will be pitching for the scouts around August 1st. If he's the old Brian, of course the Giants would want him back. But is he?
Without having at least some sense of that, I don't see how we can intelligently answer the question.

The way the Giants are playing, the only relievers needed right now are mop up men. Let him sign elsewhere and the Giants can look and see if he's available again in the off season.

No fewer than 5 teams have offered Wilson a deal for his services...no word that the Giants are one of those teams.

Last night it was reported that he'll sign with the Pirates, Giants or Dodgers. Gee, I wonder who will offer the most money?

As I posted during the off season, and got soundly poo-pooed.... "Best team money can buy."
And that they have become.
I hated it when the Yankees won by spending so much, and I still hate that baseball allows it to happen.

They're barely playing over .500. Its not like they've made it unfair.

I guess he is bitter at Giants management. No better way to piss off the Giants than to sign with the hated Dodgers.
Oh, but just one thing you may not have thought of, B-weeze...those businesses you own in SF might not have such booming sales after this.

Wilson lives in LA and Schulman said that the Giants didn't make him an offer. I have no problem with what Wilson did, although I can only hope he pitches poorly considering who he signed with.

I hope he stinks for the Dodgers, re-signs with the Giants and has a big year in 2014. I'm not going to wish injury on the guy who closed out our first championship in 56 years.

He's a traitor. He knows exactly what this means to the Giants and Giants fans and he wants to stick it to us. Well, then it's fair for us to wish injury and a swift end to his baseball career, so he can start his acting career down in Hollywood.

Upon signing with the Dodgers, this was Brian Wilson's message to Giants fans. "Thank you San Francisco Giants fans. It was an honor to pitch in front of you all these years. Even though I'll be wearing a uniform of a different color, your impact on my life will never be forgotten." Traitorous words, indeed. That Benedict Arnold!

But he DIDN'T reject the Giants! He confirmed today what Schulman said yesterday, that the Giants didn't make him an offer. How you can criticize him for this is beyond me. And you can't criticize the Giants either, because adding a reliever when your season is over makes no sense. There's two months left in the season and Wilson decided to spend it in his home city. I'm sure the Giants would be interested in bringing him back in 2014 if the price is right. In fact, Baer said that yesterday.

I wouldnt want that Hollywood traitor now if the cost was 2 bits. I don't care if the Giants made an offer or not. The Pirates wanted him but he wanted to stick it up Giants fans' asses. He knows exactly what he's doing and he's doing it, at least in part, to stick it to SF. I'm over his act and his phony crap.

Randy -- I wouldnt want that Hollywood traitor now if the cost was 2 bits. I don't care if the Giants made an offer or not. The Pirates wanted him but he wanted to stick it up Giants fans' asses. Rog -- It is a shame you have been reduced to overreacting like this. You don't care if the Giants made him an offer? Are you out of your mind? If your boss fired you and you went to a competitor instead of a non-competitor, we should lose all respect for you? I think for quite a while now you have let your emotions get the better of you. I truly used to value your opinon -- a LOT. I hate how you seem to have deteriorate. Hey, I know you're fine with it, and I'm certainly not criticizing your right to your own opinion. But saying you don't care whether the Giants offered Brian Wilson a contract or not seems a complete overreaction. And that is as complimentary as I can put it.
