God, I hate it! The games boring, no one er hits well, and who's idea was it to add an extra day to it.

I'm with you, Allen. That's why I call it the All Star FARCE.
The game promotes the concept of "individualism" and not "team."
It's just more memememememememe... and that's not what the Yout' of today need.
Besides that, the game IS boring.. The media has turned it into a circus, and that alone, drives me cookie boo.
I disagree with "awarding" the winner, home field advantage for the World series, and this STUPID concept that every team MUST be represented means just one more reason why someone deserving gets left off.
And don't EVEN get me started on how every fan gets, what, 56 votes?
Didn't put the game on.
Didn't care who won.
Didn't care who played.

Hey Boly...since you werent watching the ASG, did you sneak a peek at the Gold Cup soccer match between the USA and Costa Rica?  It only had slightly less scoring than the baseball game... ~Dood |

I'm very proud of myself for not watching a single moment of the game or HR contest. It probably has something to do with the Giants stinking dampening my enthusiasm, but I'm still happy I didn't watch all the nonsense.

wouldn't the home run hitting contest be more interesting if they had "official" baseballs instead of the goosed up balls they use....also, why not use pro pitchers and allow them to throw only fastballs, but with an umpire to call balls and strikes......3 outs and you are out....one turn at bat.....or else, give each hitter 3 swings at a ball off the tee......

By the way, I heard an idea for a much better way to decide home field advantage in the World Series...the League that wins the Interleague head to head battle gets it. That way the ASG could go back to being a meaningless exhibition as it should be....and if it ends in a tie after 10 or 11 innings because teams run out of pitchers, too bad.
That's my "if I were comissioner" entry for today.
