Evidently. the Giants have reached an agreement with the former Royals outfielder. Supposedly he will become part of the left field brigade.

he'll start against lefties. Gillespie's dog meat and Andres' righthanded splits are awful.

Alot of Giants are complaining about this signing, but the way this team is going I'll take this over trading a prospect for a marginally better player any day of the week.

Why would they complain?

you're right...it's against right handers that he does poorly...as a left handed hitter. I was thinking of it backwardly...

Does Torres get DFA'd for Francouer? Or do we go back to two catchers?

Never mind..I forgot they put Sanchez on the DL. I guess their option is DFAing Torres or sending down Noonan.

Sorry Allen, I meant Giants' fans are complaining, not the players. He's supposedly a great guy, and his teammates always love him. Fans are complaining because he's over the hill and swings at everything.

Like Pence and Pablo?

Didn't Pablo draw a walk in each if these last two games? Maybe he's learning. Then again, he lunged for a low outside pitch and hit it out of the park, so maybe we're better off if he never learns.

I noticed Pablo had started the year a ton more disciplined at the plate than he had been previously. He gets aaa little better every year but I think he lost his zone while on the DL and then got a bit anxious the longer his slump persisted. He's always been a great bad ball hitter (especially low pitches) which makes him hard to pitch to when he's sharp...and it also makes his slumps seem all the worse when he's not sharp. Kinda like Bad Vlad.

Since coming back from his foot injury Pablo is 11 for 65 (.169) with just one home run and three doubles. I think he needs to change something.

Pablo's been doing much better...6 for 14 with a HR, 4 RBI and 4 walks in the last 4 games...I think he just needed to get his zone re-established.
