Manny Ramirez has just signed a minor league deal with the Rangers. It's amazing how cheap integrity is nowadays.

I'd sacrifice integrity for a left fielder who can drive in runs and strike a little fear into the opposing pitcher. That's what we need right now. We could use a starting pitcher and some bullpen help too, but our pitching has been better of late. What is really sinking us is our lack of offense especially in the bottom half of our lineup. Someone with the resume like Manny Ramirez might be exactly what the doctor ordered. It certainly seemed to benefit us in 2010 with Pat Burrel.

You make a good point here, Boagie. When a player has paid his debt to the game through suspensions, why shouldn't he be allowed to play?
If the rules said he was to be banned, he should be banned. If not, then he shouldn't.
I hate that ballplayers used steroids, but baseball turned a blind eye for a long, long time. Even now, it is generally agreed that a player has to be pretty dumb to get caught. Baseball should greatly improve its testing methods. The technology is readily available.

Sorry. Wouldn't let him anywhere near my team. Couldn't look my family or the fans in the eye if I did.

I'm with you, Allen.
The Dodger fans wrote of his crap on and off the field as "Just Manny being Manny."
Uhhh, no thanks.
I want a team of guys all pulling on the same end of the rope.
I do not want some free wheeling, memememememe moron on the club, I don't care if he has Willie Mays talent.

Wasn't he acquitted or the charges dropped?

At least the Pats didn't hang on to Aaron Hernandez.

I was surprised the Giants promoted Angel, since he hasn't played well this season -- in a level he played at four years ago.

Wasn't he acquitted or the charges dropped? dk..he paid the victim's family a big sum of money to drop the charges......I don't know how ex-Giant Simon got off..he was indicted...and resumed ball in the US before Vilalona....

Regardless of the circumstances...the court of original jurisdiction has proclaimed the man to be free, and we should not judge from that which we have no direct knowledge. A prosecutor does not need the blessing of the victim's family to put someone on trial. Villalona deserves to be given a free slate.
